When you use Lexi Translate, we collect certain information, including but not limited to Discord server IDs, user IDs, and message content. This data is used solely to facilitate the translation and server management services provided by Lexi Translate.
Message content is only read when a feature needs it: when a member asks for a translation by reacting with a flag, in channels a server admin has set up for auto-translation, and when a server admin has turned on the spam stopper.
The data we collect is used for the purpose of enhancing your experience with Lexi Translate. This includes improving translation accuracy, customizing server management features, and ensuring anti-spam protections are properly configured. We do not sell your data. Text that needs translating or a spam check is sent to OpenAI's API, which processes it for us and returns the result; we do not store that text.
We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your information. However, no online service is completely secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Users are encouraged to configure security settings and bot permissions in Discord appropriately.
We retain data for as long as it is necessary to provide our services. Messages removed by the spam stopper are kept with the author's Discord ID, name and avatar so server admins can review them in the dashboard. These logs are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and deleted automatically after 30 days. If you wish to delete your data, you can request deletion by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon request, we will remove your data from our systems in accordance with applicable legal obligations.
Lexi Translate uses OpenAI's API to translate text and to check messages for spam. OpenAI handles that text under its own privacy policy. Lexi Translate may also utilize third-party services for other features, such as email notifications or analytics. These services may collect additional data as outlined in their respective privacy policies. We recommend reviewing these policies if you use such features.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If any significant changes are made, we will notify users via an announcement or direct message. By continuing to use Lexi Translate after updates take effect, you agree to the revised policy.
